M is the Masquerade Ball

I want to go to a masquerade ball.  A real one.  With fancy dresses, and over the top masks.  I could also go for some old fashioned dancing.  Like a waltz!  I mean really, how fun would that be?!  If we're being completely honest, I'm generally game for anything that requires one to get all done up.  I love pretty dresses...and pretty shoes....and pretty jewelry....and make-up.....and getting my hair done!  Then you add in the extra mystery of everyone wearing masks (which kind of ties into my love of Halloween), and that just sounds like the best time to me.  Maybe masquerade ball will be the theme of my future wedding (I'm only partially kidding....)!!  Anyone else have something from the past that they wish would make a comeback?

Oooohh... Yes, a masquerade ball would be fun. I'm not much on dressing up on a regular basis (I live in the Caribbean--anything besides shorts and flip-flops is already overdressed), but a once-a-year thing? Would be very cool. And the mystery of who's behind the mask adds to the excitement. Good post!

That sounds like fun! Even I would get dressed up for a masquerade ball...and you know me, I don't get dressed up for anything :)

Straight out of Shakespeare ... wouldn't that be fun?

Funny, I've been thinking about masked balls myself. Long story. I love the way you condense your posts and still get so much in there. I am a new follower now.

Sounds fun, but I am not much of a fancy dresser - I do have a couple of evening dresses that I have worn to conference gala dinners!

Masquerade ball sounds cool. Reminds me of The Phantom of the Opera, "Masquerade, paper faces on parade." I'm not one for dressing up but I'd make the effort for a masquerade ball I think :)

The theater I work at does a costume ball in the summer. This is only the second year they've done it but people rent costumes and get dressed up and there is a fancy dinner and dancing.
